We spent last weekend at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH.  We decided to go for the weekend so we could get the batteries charged and do some loading of our “stuff” on to the boat.

We showed up on Thursday afternoon and the place was virtually empty, just a few freindly souls to grab our lines.  It got progressivly busier and Saturday afternoon every slip was full.

We called two days in advance and Mark gave us an outside slip.  We paid the standard fee, but we had enough space for our dinghy and extra room to boot.

Other than some noise from the “crazy couples night fights” on the pier, cars humming across the Memorial Bridge and the nightly play in the park it was a nice stay.  Oh and after being anchored in calm Back Channel, the boat wakes took a little getting used to.

Mark, the dockmaster, was extremely friendly and helpful.  He even looked up the number of the pizza delivery joint when we called him on the VHF.

Their phone number is (603) 431-8748 and they monitor VHF Channel 9.  The website is http://www.cityofportsmouth.com/prescottpark/docks.htm.

Would we stay there again, sure when we need some battery charging and a convient place to be for friends to come over.  But it’s not a super pieceful place to be.
