A Sad Sad Day

June 21st, 2009

All good things must come to an end.  I’m hoping that this day will take a while to come, but it’s time to start the process.

BOAT FOR SALE

My back can’t take much more, Marah’s going to be entering high school soon and she’d like to be in a real school for that.  We’ve got a year for that to happen, but we need to start planning.

We’ll be enjoying the boat until she sells.

Oh no, no, no! I just found this blog and thought it was awesome you were raising a family on a boat. We have a one year old and just got back from 10 days of chartering a Cat with some friends and now looking into buying one. Just need to find a way to keep making money on the open sea!

Okay, going to read more of your posts now.

    That didn’t last long.

Their voyage actually lasted longer than I think mine could have. (I think I would want to keep the boat though, if it were me.) These guys jumped into a true adventure, with three kids of various ages, and each that spanned multiple levels of emotional growth. I say that an endeavor like this is very tough, very gutsy to even attempt, and much more than most appreciate. These people seem exceptional to me. I hope to have their resolve one day. I also think their experiences will also last them a lifetime. Their kids will remember and I suspect will hear the call of the sea again one day.

    Good luck on land! :)

The good news is that we think we’re still cruising until the boat sells or next summer, whichever comes first. We’d love to keep the boat, but the fact is that a lot of our cash is tied up in it, we’ll need to get that out to plan our next endeavor.

Even though your adventure will be shorter than planned, at least you got out and had one. It was great to meet all of you in George Town. Jennifer will never forget the fun times she had with Marah. Let us know where you land.
